Is Mo Xi free to use?
Yes. Casting the coins and getting a free reading is completely free. A one-time $2.99 unlock expands that same reading to full depth — every moving line, the transformed hexagram, and the month and day pillars — for the question you actually asked.
Is this real fortune telling?
No. Mo Xi is for entertainment purposes only. We use the genuine traditional algorithms of the I Ching (Yi Jing), Liu Yao, and Xiao Liu Ren, but the reading is a perspective to reflect on, not a prediction of your fate. We will never claim to know your future, your health, or your finances.
Do you need my birth date or birth time?
No. That is one of the best parts of the Chinese oracle tradition — it requires no birth data at all. You can ask the coins without giving us your name, birthday, or location.
What is the difference between Liu Yao and Xiao Liu Ren?
Both come from the same I Ching tradition. Liu Yao (Six Lines) is the deeper, ceremonial method: six tosses of three copper coins build a hexagram with moving lines and a transformed hexagram. Xiao Liu Ren is the quick palm oracle — three finger-counts based on the lunar month, day, and hour, perfect for small daily questions like lost keys or today’s mood. Mo Xi picks the right one for your question.
Can the same question be asked twice?
Traditional etiquette says the same matter should not be asked twice in one day. If you try, Mo Xi will politely remind you to ask again tomorrow. The sky will have turned — and so may the answer.
Is my question private?
Yes. We store only your question text and cast history to let Mo Xi remember you across visits, and you can request export or deletion at any time. We never sell data, never show ads, and never collect birth data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Will Mo Xi answer health, legal, or money questions?
Mo Xi will gently decline questions about health outcomes, legal outcomes, financial returns, or other people’s private lives. Those matters deserve professionals, not coins. If you are in crisis, Mo Xi will stop being an oracle and point you to real support.
